What We've Recently Accomplished

Holiday Food Pantry Donations
Annual - The holidays just seem to make big hearts grow bigger. Amongst the hustle and bustle of company year-end goals and personal activities, concern for our neighbors in need was not lost at Eastern. Employees collect turkeys and non-perishable food items over a period of weeks to supplement local food pantries. This year donations were delivered to Gerry's Kitchen in Rochester. Prior year campaigns have also benefited the York County Shelter and the Homeless Center of Strafford County.
120 Wishes Granted
December, 2005 - Young boys and girls in the Rochester, NH area were as delighted as their parents when they received the toys and gifts they asked for, from the Salvation Army's Wish Upon a Star program last year. Stars made of red and green construction paper, each containing a single wish from a local child, were hung on the tree at Eastern's corporate headquarters where employees could choose a wish and buy the gifts requested. Over the course of a few weeks, Eastern employees and their families fulfilled 120 requests. The collective donation was delivered to the Salvation Army headquarters on Signal Street to be distributed to the families in need.

Eastern Propane & Oil Chorus Delivers Holiday Cheer
December, 2005 - Bringing a bit of the Holiday spirit to the housebound, Eastern's own Cider Berry and his Merry Band of Carolers toured local retirement facilities and children's homes spreading Holiday Cheer! This hearty group consisted of employee volunteers from the Rochester Division. Led by soloist TracyLee Hurley and music major Meredith Lauzier, also Eastern employees, met after hours by their own accord to select and rehearse songs to share with those unable to attend holiday concerts and parades. Performances were delivered at The Rochester Manor Health & Rehabilitation Center, The Studley Home Assisted Living Facility, St. Charles Children's Home and at the home of retired employee Paul Cartier in Rochester, NH as well as The Bellamy Fields assisted living facility in Dover, NH.

Eastern Supports NHPTV Spring Auction

"Way" To Go!
Annual - Each year, employees at Eastern organize a fundraiser to benefit the United Way. During the month of November this year, pledge forms were distributed so that employees could make a straight donation. Organizers also arranged a “Jeans Day” where employees could opt to wear jeans to work with a $5.00 donation. These efforts, along with the company’s matching pledge, raised over $2000.00 to benefit the United Way in 2006.
